Sunday Sugar
May 4, 2008 by Amy
Just a sprinkling of sugar today:
- We’re off to our local Firehouse’s annual Pancake Breakfast. Yum, yum, yum. 13 and 9 look forward to this all year.
- 9 had a huge nosebleed last night. He was worried about getting blood all over the inside of the shower, so he got out, soaking wet, to get blood all over the bathroom carpet and the counter. But he was very calm through it all. Mom did not faint. All was well.
- M is no longer 13’s girlfriend. She’s back to being a friend-girl. They decided it just didn’t fit being a couple. Marianne, when she’s older, your daughter is back in the running.
- Talking to a man is like talking to, well, a man. Case in point:
Me: We need to talk about how long we plan to stay in the house.
Husband: Why?
Me: So we can decide how much remodeling we want to do, or if we want to think about buying a new place.
Husband: We should stay 10 years. Until 9 goes to college.
Me: So you want to remodel.
Husband: No.
Me: But we need to do the kitchen and master bath. And the floors. Especially if you want to live here another 10 years. Kitchen or bath, first? Or floors?
Husband: Do we have to remodel?
Me: So you want to move?
Husband: What were we talking about?
- And on top of that, I’m working on the query and synopsis for TWIST.
At least I get pancakes. Made by firemen. Really. It’s all good.
How is your Sunday shaping up?
Pancakes made by firemen? I am SO hungry. That sounds fabulous!
This weekend is work, work, work. I’m so tired I could barely get out of bed this morning!
Pancakes sounds terrific. I’ll make myself a poached egg on toast.
I’ll write today and my husband and I will probably go somewhere for a long walk. Otherwise, no plans. Have fun with the synopsis.
i am new to your site…just meandering about and found you. i love pancakes especially with fresh strawberries on top.
Pancakes made by firemen - what a delicious idea.
All I can say about your conversation with your hubby is “Men!”
Good luck on your query and synopsis for Twist.
I just finished uploading my website so now I’m off to do some walking.
Have a good Sunday.
Pancakes and firemen seem like a perfect way to start the day! I hope both were yummy!
Let’s see my day: writing, took my youngest to a birthday party. more writing!
Pancakes made by Fireman sound fantastic. Of course that could be because I like pancakes, or maybe not. *G*
As for your hubs? You are not alone. ‘Nuff said. *G*
The Out-laws came over and spent 4 hours. I need chocolate. *G*
Have a good evening!
Meander! Welcome. Sometimes you find great blogs just by wandering around…And I love fruit on my pancakes. But the only fruit this morning was Marionberry Syrup.
Edie: Have fun on the synopsis? Now, that’s just mean.
Did you get a lot done today?
Spy: Yep. Had those weekends. This weekend, it was allergies that knocked me for a loop. I think I was hungry too…I went back for seconds.
Dru: Your site looks great! And all those quilts! Wow. I’m so impressed.
Melissa: As we were standing in line, I lamented, once again, to Husband that I need a camera that fits in my purse! I think he can see the writing on the wall. Too bad it’s not on the carpet. At least then I could get new floors.
Brandy….nah, it was the firemen
. Here, have some virtual chocolate. What kind do you prefer? I’m a dark chocolate kind of gal myself, but I have all kinds on hand.
I swear, I’m a day late and a dollar short… and I missed FIREFIGHTERS and pancakes! (Can you see where my priorities are?)
I spent my Sunday at church and helping Mom grocery shop (she had knee surgery… can’t push the cart and steer the wheelchair… Super Daughter to the rescue!). The 4 monkeys disguised as little boys got to spend time with the grandparents.
Not as nice as firefighters making pancakes, but still rather nice.
