Pool Position 2: Hauling Sand

July 12, 2008 by Amy

::deep voice-over guy:: You saw them in Pool Position and experienced the thrilling arrival of the sand. Our heroes frolicked and played when they weren’t at Water Balloon War. Life was a beach without the ocean. Now, join the the continuing saga of our pool adventures. The pool location has been decided and we must ask ourselves: Can our heroes get the sand where it needs to go?

* * *

First, they shoveled.

Can 13 get the extra-deep, super-heavy barrow of sand onto the ground?

As satisfying as it was to unload that sand, it just meant there was more to do. There was always more to do.

But don’t worry 13, 9 will help!

Once all the sand was moved from the front to the back, 9 thought this was a time to play! 13 knew there would be more work, so he escaped inside where the showers were warm. A clean teen, he thought, did no work.

But clean was not in 9’s vocabulary. To him, the sand meant paradise. In the sand, his imagination could run wild. He could be anything.

A prairie dog, for instance.

He would build strong walls.

And get a guard dog.

Prepare yourself. The Pool Is Coming.
